Snooze Feed

Pressure Points Will Never Be the Same. Here’s Why.

You know that feeling when you’ve been sitting for too long and your butt goes numb? Then it starts to hurt and you need to waddle around to get the feeling back in your behind?

That’s the same thing that happens to your pressure points when you sleep, except you stay in that uncomfortable, painful position for hours!

If you’re a side sleeper, you’ve probably experienced this with your shoulder or hip. If you’re a back sleeper, your tailbone might hurt in the morning. This is caused by your mattress not responding to those pressure points.

Here, Goldilocks explains in this video:

Like bad hair styles, problems with pressure points while you’re sleeping don’t happen to everyone. But for those who wake up sore, or have conditions like fibromyalgia that make it impossible to sleep comfortably, finding a mattress that can adequately disperse pressure is essential.

So, why is Purple so darn good at pressure relief? Well, it has a lot to do with the Smart Comfort Grid™.

Purple's Hyper-elastic Polymer

The grid pattern that Purple is arranged in on top of the mattress is the secret to Purple’s pressure absorbing superpowers. When pressure is applied to one of the columns, it pulls on the walls of surrounding columns to disperse the weight.

Basically, the walls relax under pressure to provide gentle comfort and the rest of the columns in the grid pick up the slack.

Purple buckles under pressure.

How do you know whether pressure points are affecting your sleep?

Sore back
  1. Do wake up with a sore shoulder and/or hip?
  2. Do you toss and turn because you can’t get comfortable?
  3. Do you often lose feeling in your arm or leg while sleeping?
  4. Is your shoulder, hip or tailbone sore and/or stiff all day?

If these are common occurrences, you may need a different mattress. One that can handle your pressure points like a pro.
